Sean Josef Lua

Hello, I am

Sean Josef Lua

Software developer and tech enthusiast.

About Me

I'm a Bachelor of IT student at Monash University, who is interested in all sorts of technology, particularly mobile phones.

I find mobile phones quite fascinating, since they manage to cram in so much tech in such a small package. My interest began with Android phones, especially GCam mods and custom ROMs, which led to my eventual interest in IT.

Apart from technology, I'm pretty big on single player games like Pokémon, as well as Korean dramas, which has led me to learning the Korean language itself. ^^

I'm a driven individual, always eager to learn and take on new challenges. I've tried creating my own projects, from mobile to the web, with a soft spot for open-source software. I've also gained industry experience through events like Accenture's Tech Bootcamp, or the Project Coordinator role for the Android GUIDE project while in the Monash Assistive Tech Team.

Timeline

2026

Industry experience

Completed an intensive bootcamp at Accenture, building Koko; a full-stack, agentic AI-powered app using React, Python, and AWS Strands.

2025

Dexern, and continued upskilling in CS/IT

Explored cross-platform mobile development with React Native and Expo, building a Pokédex PWA that is powered by PokéAPI. Furthermore, I continued my CS/IT education by doing units focusing on Databases, Theory of Computation, Data Structures and Algorithms, and Mobile App Development, learning a lot about the computer. At the end of the year I made the switch to IT, so I could focus more on the combination of tech and business.

2024

Started my CS/IT Journey

Began learning HTML, CSS, and JavaScript by building CLOCKWORK, a timed spin on the NY Times' Wordle. I also completed units dedicated to Python and the fundamentals of software development.
